Martin and Bombippy,
You come here to the states and you will see that Americans are far from upbeat.
All I can think of is that your friends want something for nothing and want me and two more generations to pay for it.
The majority of Americans don't want to be like Canada, just like Canadians don't want to be
like the United States.
We (majority) don't want socialized health care or high taxes on the things we need less
government, less taxes, we are supposed to be a Republic and this new administration is not about that, at all!!!

Stay tuned my friend, Obama cabinet nominees are dropping like flies 5 Obama nominees (in the first 2 weeks of the Obama presidency) have lied and cheated on their taxes, a total disgrace!

America's best days are NOT AHEAD, with SOCIALISM on the horizon, there is NO HOPE for the "REAL AMERICANS" who no what is really going on!

I agree, but do not want to get ahead of myself. Obama hasn't done anything yet and until he does I refuse to feel optimistic. Many of my friends have been laid off and so far there has been nothing done to prevent this. from happening to me. Let's hope the hope and faith put in Obama works out for us, and as you said the World.

Hi Bombippy - thanks for chipping in. Yes, you can sense a strong sense of "change" and "positive spirit" around all of this - it's been captivating to watch.

I just hope that everyone is not putting too much expectations on the man - there's just so much he can do. But from a confidence side of things he has - as they say in America - hit it out of the park. :-)

I'm in Toronto, Canada and share your sentiment. Our news is awash with "change" and the positive spirit that Americans are embracing as a result of Obama-mania. I'm not even American and I'm excited and looking forward to seeing how Obama will hopefully turn things around.
